We're already suspecting Petit Planet has the potential to take Animal Crossing's cozy sim crown, as HoYoverse's first foray into life-sim gameplay looks absolutely adorable. Rather than a town, farm, or village, in Petit Planet you get a whole world to nurture. The game features the standard routine--chop trees, grow crops, go fishing, make friends--but there's a lot more here in terms of customization, which will suit cozy creatives. There's also more of a focus on communal gameplay and making real-world friends in-game, and the game will be totally free to play on launch.

Fangtopia

A new contender for the cutest cozy game to play through spooky season has arrived: Fangtopia. The upcoming puzzle game looks like a perfect way to spend Halloween if you're into all things pumpkin-related but can't face anything genuinely scary--it's just good vibes and ghouls. To play, all you need to do is rotate hex tiles to match nearby terrain and score points, placing like by like, and finding cool combinations that slowly turns your lone island into a sprawling town populated by ghosts, werewolves, and yetis. There are a bunch of creepy-cute inhabitants to unlock by completing placement challenges, and there's no time pressure or single correct way to play, just the promise of a wholesome Halloween evening.

The Witch's Bakery

The Witch's Bakery is a cozy RPG adventure where you take on the life of a magical bakery-owner in Paris. With the help of your feline familiar, you'll need to master recipes for classic bakery fare, and win the hearts of the locals. Each day is split into three distinct rounds--the daytime, where you'll put in a solid bakery shift; the evening, where you can explore iconic Parisian streets and help your friends with their troubles; and the night, where you can decorate your bakery and spend some time cozying up and resting. The game looks to have a little more depth than your average bakery-sim, with a focus on solving problems and making strong relationships.

Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth

In Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth, you get to live the actual dream: stepping into a beautiful story-driven world inspired by Tove Jansson’s iconic Moomin stories. The story will take players on a journey through the unknown, as Moomintroll wakes up early from hibernation into a snowy wonderland where the once familiar valley is transformed into something unrecognizable. He must venture out, meet new friends, and learn how to find warmth and companionship in the depths of winter. Bear with me while I cry.

The visuals and narrative elements lean into the pastoral comforts of wandering through forests, helping others, and discovering the quiet magic hidden behind every snowy hill, and its gentle puzzles can be taken at your own pace. If their previous game Snufkin: Melody Of Moominvalley is anything to go by, it'll be as calming as chamomile tea.

Fable

If you like enormous open-world RPGs you'll no doubt already be waiting eagerly for February 2027, where the beloved Fable series gets a long awaited reboot. From what we know about the game, and our Gamescom preview, it looks like it'll be absolutely gorgeous, with vast immersive lands to traverse, fantasy heroics to master, and of course, a full, rich life for your character to build. The depth of Fable knows no bounds--you can save the day as might be expected, but also hold down a job, make friends and get married, raise a family, and cultivate a reputation that spreads far and wide. It's equal parts whimsical, cozy, and challenging--with combat serving as a main feature, but so much more of life to explore alongside it.

Hoppin: Into The Woods

This delightful pixel playground already has a demo on Steam so you can try a small taste, but you'll have to wait a bit longer for any firm release date. What we do know is that Hoppin: Into The Woods is going to be a gorgeous game filled with adorable creatures and increasingly complex puzzles on pastel-colored grids. As a mother rabbit, you'll have to venture deep into the woods to find carrots, navigating obstacles and routes that require precise timing and planning ahead. If you like cozy puzzle games with the freedom to keep trying new strategies, Hoppin: Into The Woods will be hoppin' straight into your heart.

The Derby At Stillwater Creek

The Derby At Stillwater Creek might sound like a racing game, but think more along the lines of a cozy deck-building fishing adventure. It's got a gentle gameplay loop where you build your deck from equipment cards, load up and equip your boat, then head out and get fishin' across ten different lakes. The aim is to try and win the Stillwater Cup, but you can also just use it as a chill place to hang out and while away the hours with peaceful, slow gameplay and serene surroundings. It's one of many great indie games in this list, and we think it might appeal to fans of games like Dredge and Dave The Diver.

Himig

Himig looks like a gentle tale, perfect for people who like to explore new worlds and get to know characters at their own pace. The game presents life through the eyes of two children, allowing you to live their lives and make memories--saying hello to people and animals, watching the daylight come and go, and making choices that might ripple out and impact more than just these two characters. There's the promise of minigames and collectables, as well as plenty of adorable creatures to meet along the way.

If you're looking for games like Stardew Valley but with something a bit different to offer then look no further, as this cute pixelly game looks like it'll appeal, both in gameplay and aesthetics. It sounds like it'll be a little less intense than some farming games, with an emphasis on collecting different types of plant and selling them on in your cozy shop. You can then upgrade your gear and head out for more successful foraging trips. Over time you'll also make pottery and be able to restore the town gardens, spreading the love as you expand your business.

Animula Nook

Currently undergoing playtesting, Animula Nook looks absolutely adorable. Shrunk down into a cute miniature world, players get to explore and build homes, befriend other tiny folk, and collect resources and rare materials. From what we've seen so far, Animula Nook looks like a genuine adventure--full of unique things to do and surprises to uncover as you explore this world of upside-down proportions. Tiny houses can be built from everyday items like milk cartons and buttons, all on the top of your desk, and you can use outfits and accessories to express yourself ahead of meeting other characters. This game looks like whimsy with a capital W.

Hela: Of Mice And Magic

Hela is one of the best upcoming co-op games we're currently looking forward to, a sweet and cozy tale made for more than one player (although you can play it alone if you really want). Inspired by Scandinavia, the world of Hela is all lush plantlife and streaming sunlight, as well as rugged mountains and gorgeous lakes that seem to stretch on forever. As a tiny mouse, even more so. You and your pals will team up to explore this expansive world, solving challenging puzzles and exploring creatively as the story unfolds and you try your best to become a successful Witch's Familiar.

Witchbrook

The witch theme continues. In Witchbrook you get to take on the role of a witch-in-training in the seaside town of Mossport, attending classes, crafting potions, brewing friendships, and enjoying seasonal festivals. With pixelated charm reminiscent of Stardew Valley, this witchy life sim adds broom flying, magical studies, and cozy side quests that reward curiosity. Witchbrook promises immersive cozy vibes with depth and personality, a whimsical adventure in a town with changing seasons and the opportunity to find love and make lasting friendships. The game was delayed into 2026 to ensure it meets expectations, and as the developers are a proudly "no crunch" studio, they've taken a little extra time to get it just right. We love to see it, and we're sure it'll be worth the wait.

TOEM 2

Much like its predecessor, TOEM 2 looks like a ridiculously cozy time. It's a wholesome puzzle adventure where you solve problems by taking photos in creative ways, looking for the hidden gems you might otherwise miss. Our photographer hero is more adventurous this time around, able to jump and climb around environments and turning it into a hybrid platformer with the classic photo capturing mechanics still front and center.
